Art Lots at the Secret Garden Party

Across the marsh between Morston and Stiffkey

Bruce Pearson

I spend a lot of time working along the North Norfolk coast, sometimes hunkered down with a small sketch pad.  Other times - when the weather and light allow - I will have as big a sheet of paper as possible laid out on the ground or strapped to an easel.  Whatever the day delivers the focus throughout is not an attempt to capture a specific moment but rather to distill as much as possible of the natural world’s drama, structure, colour and beauty as they appear through a long period of observation.  This painting is from a day in April on the marsh between Morston and Stiffkey. Original watercolour/mixed media

Astri Sharp

Astri Sharp is an artist friend of Sarah's parents who has kindly donated 2 original watercolours of flowers. She says "In a technological age there is a need for the human touch.  When painting as in life, myriads of choices present themselves; a single brush stroke can create or destroy. I am inspired by the awesome grandeur of nature, which invokes humility".
